Beginning during the nineteenth century, fountains ceased for use for ingesting drinking water and have become purely ornamental. By the beginning with the twentieth century, cities began employing steam pumps and later electric powered pumps to ship h2o to the town fountains. in a few regional dialects, water fountains are identified as bubblers.
